For Diane the journey into motherhood has been an amazing and at times tumultuous ride. She had her first baby...
The amazing mums who generously agreed to share their stories and experiences in Mother Who? come from quite different backgrounds. They reveal a diverse blend of perspectives and real experiences that should resonate with all mums and mums-to-be. Their compelling stories are complemented with practical information on issues like support networks, childcare, working with employers, emotional and social pressures, starting a business, health and relationships.
This was THE perfect gift. After being away from the workforce for the past 2 and a half years, my Aunt sent me a copy of this wonderful book. It contains the stories, laughs and tears of a group of well known women (and not-so-well-known), whose job descriptions range from Senators to singers, foster mum's to entrepreneurial royalty, sports women to publishing experts. The common thread? Motherhood, and the trials, guilt trips and everything else that goes with returning to the workforce. I have laughed, cried, and cheered for these women, and their stories have given me the strength to know that I can still be a good mother, and a good worker - with the right balance, support and attitude. It also has a lot of tips for child care, support groups, and touches on social and emotional issues. I highly recommend this honest book.
