There was an Owl in the old oak tree. It never spoke. Fox could not get it to speak, Badger thought it was rude, Mouse thought it could not hear even the Squirrel scolded it for being nuts, while the Stag said he must be mute. Why would the Owl not speak? Was there another way it could communicate? What was the use of an Owl who could not or would not speak? Read this superbly illustrated book to find out.
