TOMORROW MELBOURNE Book Launch: Gregory Bryan and Henry Lawson!

August 22, 2012

MELBOURNE Book Launch: To Hell & High Water  Walking in the Footsteps of Henry Lawson to be launched by The Henry Lawson Society

Thursday 23 August, RMIT Uni Melbourne

A story both of Australia’s past and Australia’s present.

Meet author Gregory Bryan as he describes the extreme conditions of his 450km gruelling tramp in the footsteps of his hero – Australian literary legend – Henry Lawson. His enthralling presentation will be supported with images from the beautiful outback.

A childhood goal to walk in the footsteps of his favourite author led GREGORY BRYAN, an author and literacy professor, onto the dusty track between Bourke, NSW and Hungerford, Queensland. Henry Lawson made the same trek in search of ‘copy’ in 1893, and for the rest of his life he was influenced and inspired by his time wandering in the outback. An inspiring story of what makes ordinary people do extraordinary things
After the presentation there will be a Q&A section where you can ask questions about Henry Lawson and Gregorys own experiences on the track.
Thursday 23 August at 6pm
Kaleide Theatre, RMIT Building 8
Swanston Street Melbourne.
