Someone is hunting the hunters.

For decades, the Taipan Organisation has carried out the missions governments cannot. Invisible. Untouchable. Unmatched. Until now.

When the organisation’s covert Controllers begin turning up dead across Europe and the Middle East, Taipan realises it isn’t facing a rival contract — it’s facing extinction.

Behind the killings is Kulak, a powerful Russian private military company locked in a decades-old shadow war with Taipan. Leading the hunt is Rainer Toussaint, a relentless assassin with one final objective: destroy Taipan’s command network, then settle an old score with Damien Hunter.

Only one Controller remains. Lose him, and the organisation loses its eyes, ears and command.

Hidden inside a covert operations centre in northern Iraq, Hudson Blake has become the most valuable man in the organisation, and the most hunted. Damien Hunter and the battle-hardened operators of Taipan 16 are sent to keep him alive. Instead, they find themselves fighting a war that stretches across Iraq and into Iran, where betrayal, private armies, drones, tanks and air strikes collide in a relentless race against time.

As old enemies close in and the body count rises, Damien is forced to confront an impossible choice: rescue the man who holds Taipan together or kill him before he falls into enemy hands.

For the first time, the mission isn’t the contract.
It’s the survival of the organisation.
